The speaker plays very well, but it looks like a re-solder rather than original, but is also of the era. Jensen made lots of amp speakers in the 1960s, notably for Ampeg, and they are good speakers... And are sought after for those that do amp restoration of this era. The guitar plays well but the volume and tone controls can be noisy and finicky. The pots are probably dirty because at points the guitar will cut out. I plugged an Ibanez acoustic/electric in to troubleshoot, the amp worked fine, so the issue is with the Silvertone electric volume and tone controls. The white pick guard has some slight discoloration around the volume and tone controls, as shown. The guitar does have some dings and light scratches typical of an instrument that is almost 60 years old. The guitar sounds good but the volume and tone controls get a little noisy with hum when pushed to the extreme.

The guitar electronics need a little cleaning and TLC. Just as a side note, I watched Joey Spampinato of NRBQ play one of these guitars one night a long time ago, and asked him after the show what he had done to customize the guitar. His answer was absolutely nothing! These guitars play like velvet and are wonderful used as a rhythm guitar paired with a nice warm tube amp. The case is very good.

All the hardware, clasps and hinges are intact and work well. The clasps have some light corrosion. The grill for the speaker is completely intact. The vinyl covering for the case has some small dings and edge tears, but again, pretty typical for an item that's nearly 60 years old. There are a couple of small, light stains on the front of the case, as shown. The interior red felt is very, very good. The amp works with all tubes intact. It plays quite loud for a practice amp but does distort easily when pushed.

There is a plug-in for a foot switch which I remember as being an option for these units, but a foot switch is NOT included with this one. Total weight, fully packed is 35 pounds. All of my listings are fully guaranteed.
